Bristol JLD Elections 2012 – call for nominations

If you would like to stand for a role, please find a description of all the roles on our election page. To register your interest, please email election@bristoljld.co.uk enclosing your submission on the candidate application form.  You can put yourself forward for more than one role, but please specify your order of preference.  Only those positions without pre-registered interest will be open to nominations on the night, so please get any expressions of interest in by noon on Monday 12 November.

Costs Seminar on 29 November

Bristol JLD are holding a seminar on costs and billing
thanks to Mark Beaumont at Just Costs Solicitors.

Mark will be outlining the basics of productive billing, giving guidance on what you can and can’t bill for and simple ways to improve recoverability of fees.
Mark will also be happy to answer any questions you may have.

The talk will be an invaluable guide for anyone working in the legal sector,
as well as those who are currently studying for a career in law.

Junior Lawyer of the Year Award

 

Bristol Law Society need Bristol JLD’s help to find the “Junior Lawyer of the Year” of 2012 for this year’s Annual Award (sponsored by The College of Law) being given on 18 October 2012.  Nominations are open for either a trainee solicitor or solicitor up to 5 years PQE who can show exceptional endeavour to enter the profession and/or has made a significant contribution in the early part of their career.
