Over 130 junior lawyers from firms across Bristol and the South-West came together on Friday 12th June to network whilst dining, drinking and dancing the night away at the "splendidly grand" Thistle Grand Hotel. It was "Cheshire Cat Grins" all round in the ballroom, which was resplendently decorated in a fantastical Alice-in-Wonderland theme, with playing cards, silver candelabras and crystal chandeliers.

Then, on Sunday 14th June, the Bristol JLD Allstars Dragon Boat Racing team took to the waters of Baltic Wharf to compete against a plethora of law and accountancy firms and other professional bodies. The cheering squad was out in force during the course of the day and the team splashed home to a respectable top ten position in the final league table! Well done team!

Both events this weekend were a huge success not only for the region's junior lawyers, but also for our charity-of-the-year, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal for the Bristol Children's Hospital. The total amount raised will be announced shortly!

The Bristol TSG has transformed into the Bristol JLD--but what does this mean for you?

Well, the biggest difference so far is that there is no difference: Every autumn, all of the trainees who qualified had to leave the TSG. Now, you can stay a member of the Bristol JLD until you're 5 years' qualified (if you want to). Don't worry though, we're still focused on junior members of the Bristol legal community. It's all the same things you love (free beer) but now you decide when to leave!
