Volunteers Needed

The College of Law (Bristol) will be hosting the Regional First Round of the CEDR Negotiation Competition 2013 for Law School Students on Saturday 9 February 2013 from 12 pm to 5.45 pm .  The competition is sponsored by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution and further information is on the website: http://www.cedr.com/skills/competition/.

Volunteer judges are needed to help decide which two teams (of up to 16) will progress to the National Finals.  Judges do not need a legal background, but ideally they should have a career that requires them to use or reflect on negotiation skills on a regular basis.  The judges will be briefed before the first negotiation starts at 1pm, and they will be working in teams of three, so they will have the opportunity to discuss their thoughts and scoring with the other members of the panel.

The judges will see two negotiations (four pairs) in total during the afternoon, and each negotiation will be 50 minutes long, with 10 minutes for each team to engage in self-reflection in the presence of the judges following the negotiation.  There will be drinks and nibbles as the results are announced from 5.30 pm.

If you would like to volunteer as a judge then please contact Zoe King on Zoe.King@lawcol.co.uk.
