JLD Work Experience Survey

The National Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) is aware that many junior lawyers are carrying out a large amount of work experience, both paid and unpaid, before obtaining a training contract and that there is an increasing demand for this by prospective employers. We want to get a better idea about how much paid or unpaid work experience, paralegal work and voluntary work you are involved in or have had to do before obtaining your training contract. We also want to know whether it is or was useful and to learn about your experiences, both positive and negative.

We are aware that many who wish to pursue a career in law are unable to carry out work experience because they are working and studying part time and/or cannot afford to undertake unpaid work experience. We want to hear from you too.
