CILEx event on 28th October

Bristol JLD and CILEx are pleased to invite you to Alternative Routes to Qualifying on Tuesday 28 October 2014.

Did you know that LLB/LPC/BPTC academic qualifications, combined with paralegal work, can be used to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive lawyer, without requiring a training contract?

Not all lawyers are solicitors or barristers. Under the Legal Services Act 2007 (the 2007 Act) Chartered Legal Executive lawyers are ‘authorised persons’ undertaking ‘reserved legal activities’ alongside, for example, solicitors and barristers. Fully qualified and experienced Chartered Legal Executive lawyers are able to undertake many of the legal activities that solicitors do.

The evening will include:
  • A presentation by Lynne Squires explaining how you can use the qualifications, and work experience, you already have to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Local CILEx members will be at the event to talk first-hand about the work they do and what being a member of CILEx has helped them achieve.
  • A question & answer session.
Registration is from 5.30pm on Tuesday 28 October at the Bristol Law Library (map) and refreshments are provided courtesy of CILEx

Places are limited. Please RSVP to careers@bristoljld.co.uk to reserve your place.
