Bristol JLD Wins Big on 6 May 2011

The Bristol JLD’s Casino Royale Ball on 6th May was a spectacular success.

We are delighted to have hosted a spectacular evening of eating, drinking, networking, dancing and charity fundraising. Local paralegals, trainees and solicitors were joined for dinner by staff and LPC students from the University of the West of England‘s Bristol Institute of Legal Practice, who were once again the Ball’s Lead Sponsor.

Following the feast there were free prize draws courtesy of sponsors Hays Legal Recruitment and Wesleyan for Lawyers and a gala raffle to raise money for the group’s Charity of the Year. The money is still being counted but already Bristol JLD members looked to have raised over £3,600 for Bristol-based charity The Jessie May Trust. This record-breaking total for a single Bristol JLD event will soon be added to the proceeds from various Charity Quiz Nights and an upcoming Summer Party all in aid of this fantastic local cause.

With roving magicians, a mini-casino and some top tunes from local covers band The Moon Loungers, followed by a private disco, the fun and games lasted long into the night. There are even rumours that more than a few revellers headed into Bristol afterwards and danced into the early and not so early hours of the morning at various local nightspots!

You can view photos of the event here.

And of course, as at the end of all good Bond films, we can confirm that the Bristol JLD Ball will return 2012!
