We got into the festive spirit by holding the Bristol JLD Christmas Party on 6th December 2011 at Toto's Wine Bar. There was a mulled wine drinks reception from the new Committee and mince pies courtesy of Toto's. Congratulations to the winners of our luxury charity raffle, which was the first opportunity to raise funds for our new charity of the year, the Alzheimer's Society.
We held our AGM and Election Night at The Big Chill on Tuesday 1st November with drinks and nibbles provided by Chadwick Nott. Thanks to all those who voted and congratulations to all the new Committee members. We extend our gratitude to the outgoing Committee members for all their hard work during 2010-11. The evening also gave us the opportunity to present our charity of the year, The Jessie May Trust, with a cheque for £4,632.31. Thank you to all our members for your generous donations in 2010-11
The JLD Charity Quiz, held on 18 October 2011 at Toto's, was a huge success and raised £698.60 for our charity of the year, The Jessie May Trust. Congratulations to "Enough Questions, Bring on the Pizza" (1st); "Three in a Million" (2nd); Quizy Rascals (3rd); and "All Thrings Bright and Beautiful" (Best Name) and commiserations to "Sui Generis" (last place).
The Bristol JLD extended a warm welcome to new members and congratulations to NQs on Thursday 29 September, at The Living Room. There were free drinks and nibbles on arrival, plus a champagne draw from our sponsors, Wesleyan for Lawyers, where one lucky winner walked away with a brand new Amazon Kindle!
We held our 2011 Summer Party on Thursday 25th August at the wonderful Spyglass BBQ & Grill. Thanks to our sponsors at Wesleyan for Lawyers, we had a great spread of starters, BBQ food, drinks, and more! We also gave away some prizes on the night in a raffle in aid of our charity of the year, The Jessie May Trust.
We held the bi-annual Bristol JLD charity pub quiz on Tuesday 5th April to raise money for our Charity of the Year, The Jessie May Trust. Thanks to everyone who took part and made such generous donations.
